Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy

CareerPrep: Resume Builder ("the App") is developed and maintained by Conversantech. We respect your privacy. This Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the App.

1. Information You Enter

• The App allows you to create resumes by entering information such as full name, contact information, professional summary, education, work experience, skills, projects, certifications, languages, references, a profile photo (optional), and any other information you choose to include in your resume.
• This information is entered entirely by you and is used only to generate your resume.

2. Local Data Storage

• All resume information is stored locally on your device using the Hive local database.
• The App does not upload, transmit, or synchronize your resume data with any server or cloud service operated by Conversantech.
• Conversantech does not have access to your resume information or files.

3. Photos

• If you choose to add a profile photo to your resume, the image is used solely for inclusion in your resume and remains stored locally on your device.
• The App does not upload or share your photos.

4. Internet Usage and Store Services

• Forced and Critical Updates: The App utilizes the third-party "Upgrader" service which queries native app stores (such as Google Play Store and Apple App Store) to check if a critical application update is required.
• External Links & Store Redirection: When you use the "Rate Us" feature or select options to explore other apps ("More from Conversantech"), the App uses platform links and device browsers or store applications to redirect you.
• Contacting Us: Tapping the "Contact Us" option opens your default mail application to send an email to developer@conversantech.com, automatically pre-populating non-personal application metadata (such as the app version and platform info) to help us support you.
• No personally identifiable information is collected or transmitted to Conversantech servers during normal use of the App.

5. PDF and PNG Downloads, Watermarks, and Screenshot Protection

• The App allows you to generate and save your resume as PDF or PNG files. These files are created locally on your device. You are responsible for how you store, share, or distribute the generated files.
• By default, generated resumes include a faint "CareerPrep: Resume Builder" watermark. You have the option to remove the watermark by viewing a rewarded interstitial advertisement. Removing the watermark via ads remains active for that specific download or preview session. Alternatively, you can purchase the Pro version of the application to remove the watermark permanently and enjoy an ad-free experience.
• To protect the design layout and proprietary styling of our resume templates, screenshot and screen recording capture is disabled on the resume preview screen (capturing a black screen). Users must use the official export functionality to save their resume.

6. Advertisements and Third-Party Services

• The App displays advertisements to support its free features (such as banner ads on the dashboard, rewarded interstitial ads to remove watermarks or unlock Pro templates, and standard interstitial ads when navigating back to the dashboard).
• We integrate the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display advertisements. Third-party advertising networks (including Google AdMob) may collect, process, and use device-specific data, including but not limited to advertising identifiers (e.g., IDFA, AAID), IP addresses, usage telemetry, and cookies. This data is processed in accordance with the third-party providers' respective privacy policies to deliver personalized ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud.

7. Permissions and System Access

• The App is designed to minimize permission requirements. It operates locally and does not request or require direct, wide-ranging runtime permissions to access your device's Camera, Photo Gallery, or External Storage.
• To import a profile photo or to save your generated resumes to your device, the App invokes standard system-managed file/document pickers and secure directory interfaces that handle the access out-of-process. These operations are performed solely to deliver the requested functionality and no personal information is collected or transmitted.

8. Data Deletion

• Because all information is stored locally, you remain in full control of your data.
• You may remove your resume information by deleting resumes within the App or by clearing the App's data through your device settings.
• Uninstalling the App may permanently remove all locally stored resume data.

9. Children’s Privacy

• The App is not specifically intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy

• We may update this Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy from time to time.
• Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.

11. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

• CareerPrep: Resume Builder is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
• While we strive to provide a reliable application, Conversantech and its developers make no warranties or representations regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, or suitability of the App or the resumes generated through it.
• Users are solely responsible for:
  • The accuracy and legality of the information entered.
  • Reviewing all resume content before using or sharing it.
  • Safeguarding their device and locally stored data.
  • Any PDF or PNG files generated or shared using the App.
• To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Conversantech, its owners, employees, developers, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of files, loss of employment opportunities, or any damages arising from the use of or inability to use the App.
• By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that you use it entirely at your own risk.
